INFO
The winners of Shoot Nations 2009 have been announced!
See the home page for more details.
Shoot Nations 2009 is addressing the theme of ‘Growing up in the 21st century’. We want to build a global picture of the challenges facing young people in terms of the limitations and opportunities that come with being born male or female.
The competition closes on Friday 31st July at 6pm (GMT).
Winners will be announced on Wednesday 12th August, International Youth Day.
MTV's Laura Whitmore joins in with Shoot Nations.
Our partners at MTV.co.uk will be hosting a special UK only competition, where visitors to MTV.co.uk will vote on their favourite UK entry from a selected shortlist, so keep your photos coming in!
MTV presenter Laura Whitmore will personally present the UK winner with their prize at the exhibition launch on the 22nd September.

The concept is simple:
Any young person aged 11 — 25 can take and enter three photos (or drawings and graphic designs) to express their feelings on the following three briefs:
- Because I am a Girl / Because I am a Boy (pick one)
- What's holding me back?
- What could I be?
- No photography experience necessary
- You should enter one photo/drawing/design per brief and upload your entries to shootnations.org with a caption to explain what your photo is about
- The photos/drawings/designs you submit must be taken by you.
- You can submit entries that were created before the competition start date.
See photos from last year’s competition for inspiration.
Winners will be chosen in two age categories:
- 11 to 16
- 17 to 25
