Workshops: Colombia Workshop 2011
Shoot Nations Colombia Workshop 2011
24 November 2010
47 young people from the communities in Cartagena spent the day learning about the power of photography and how to communicate using photographs. They considered the project theme of urbanisation and ventured into the streets of El Pozon are where the workshop was held to capture their views on what city living means to them, presenting their views to the rest of the group in a final presentation.
Their photos from the day were hung along with the other Shoot Nations photos at the Shoot Nations Colombia exhibition at the Claustro de Santodomingo, as part of the Hay Festival.
The photos showed thoughtful and surprising interpretations of city life, from not wanting to grow up too fast to the importance of preserving Colombian culture and the the need for space and freedom for young people to flourish.
