Exhibitions: EU Development Days - Strasbourg
In 2008 young people's voices were heard for the first time at the annual European Development Days event. With Plan's support, young people played an active role in the event, from interviewing senior level policy makers to participating in the official roundtable and holding their own youth forum attended by over 100 young people from Europe and West Africa.
This annual event is organised by the European Commission and the presidency of the European Union. The open forum brings together some 3,000 development actors such as parliamentarians, local authorities, civil society organizations, academicians, development agencies, private sector and the media to discuss the issues at the top of the development agenda.
2008's event was organised by the French Presidency of the European Union and held in Strasbourg, France on 15th to 17th November 2008. The theme was local governance. Plan staff from the UK, Sweden, Norway, Europe and West Africa worked together to bring 17 youths from Togo, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Mali, UK, Sweden and Norway to the event.
Selected photos from Shoot Nations were exhibited at event.
