1 Plan UK KS4 Shoot Nations Scheme of Work (14 to 16 year olds)
Plan UK have produced a Shoot Nations scheme of work, which contains English lesson plans appropriate for the National Curriculum's Key Stage 4 Media Studies requirements.
The lesson plans encourage students to assess the power of photography as a media tool, and look at how and why certain photographs have changed the course of history. The scheme develops to look at how a photography-based campaign can be constructed and how this campaign can be scaled up to make a global impact.
2 Because I am a Girl 2007 is a Key Stage 3 Citizenship scheme of work to accompany the 2007 report, '˜Because I am a Girl: The State of the World's Girls'. The lessons look comparatively at gender inequality and stereotypes in both the developed and developing world.
3 Because I am a Girl 2008 is the second series of engaging educational resources to accompany the 2008 report, 'Because I am a Girl: The State of the World's Girls 2008: In the Shadow of War'. The resources are suitable for Key Stage 4 Citizenship.
4 Because I am a Girl 2009
Because I am a Girl 2009 is the third series of engaging educational resources to accompany the 2009 report, 'Because I am a Girl: The State of the World's Girls 2008: Girls in the Global Economy, Adding It All Up'. The version of the resources for Key Stage 2 (8-11) and Key Stage 3 (11-14), and they make use of PowerPoint and an online film. The assembly introduces the key themes in an appropriate way for students and the follow up activities allow students to look deeper into causes and action being taken, as well as getting creative and critical in their own responses, such as campaigning. They are mapped to the National Curriculum.
